On the 29th June, every year, we
celebrate The Danube’s Day together with people from other European countries,
especially those where this large river flows through.
This was a very good opportunity for
our Comenius team to organize the project’s final event; students, teachers,
parents, relatives, we all participated in the various activities dedicated to
the Danube and to Water in general. The host of the event was the Museum of
Natural Sciences and the participants were mainly students and teachers from
different schools in Galati.
The program included:
- a presentation of the Danube and
its tributaries from its two springs in the Black Forest Mountains in Germany
to its flow into the Black Sea in Romania
- a film presenting the scientific
results obtained by a team of researchers from European countries who made a
special documentary trip along the Danube; the presentation was made by one of
the team members, a Romanian biologist
- an exhibition of brochures, maps,
books, posters related to water and water protection
- playing board games and solving
puzzles; interactive games for smaller children
- a collection of very old
illustrated postcards and photos with aspects from villages and towns situated
on the Danube, the activities of the people connected to water, their way of
living in those old times
- diplomas and awards for the
students who participated to water contests or had a significant contribution
to water protection activities
