Water shaped the history of Galati, Romania

A few days after the trip to the flooding Danube, the students participated to an interesting activity about the water threats such as floods, landslides, avalanches, loss of human lives, melting of glaciers, sea level release, lost crops, etc.
At the same meeting, the history and geography teachers presented  documentary materials about the history of our city and to what extent the presence of big water basins in this region has influenced its development in time. Older or more recent newspapers and the internet source were of great help in accomplishing our activity.
Lots of pictures were shown and discussed and the students had the opportunity to tell about the experiences their parents or grandparents passed through when they faced certain water threats during their lives.
The activity was organised by the project team members Silvia Tobias, Maria Moraru and Georgiana Munteanu.
